Automated Journalism or robot Journalism is defined as the use of AI algorithms to generate news, stories, reports and articles. This unconventional suit promises efficiency as the process has the abilities and capabilities that include processing vast amounts of data, data analysis, content generation and editorial decision making. However, this series of activities poses questions and threats on the future of human journalists and the quality of AI-produced content.
The proposed workshop on AI and Journalism seeks to strike a delicate balance between the efficiency and innovation brought by automation and the essential role of human oversight in maintaining ethical standards, critical thinking, and journalistic integrity.
